About

Hi Dear One,

My name is Evelyn Sherwood, and it is pure joy to meet you! It’s both an honor and humbling to Know that you chose to take time out of your busy day,  pull up a chair,  and breathe in this space. So, here’s a little about me.

I was born and raised in the Midwest and have been married 40 years to my college sweetheart (the one I chased until he caught me).

We launched two beautiful children out of our home only to find them coming back again and again with their spouses and eight grandbabies. Talk about glorious chaos. We have it in bucket fulls.

The same church that called us to serve them 29 years ago is still “family”, as well as the community of faith we are surrounded by in this smallish midwest town.

True confession: I watch Hallmark Christmas movies all year, Pumpkin Spice Latte is my favorite season, and my idea of a 5-star hotel is camping in the clubhouse with my “Grands.”

Throughout my life, I can honestly say, like Apostle Paul, “I know what it is to have nothing, and I know what it is to have abundance.  Both bring their joys and sorrows. But the faithfulness of my loving Heavenly Father has been the one constant in all my moments. His grace gifts are so precious to me, pouring light in the dark places of my life.

In November of ‘23, after an intense season of pain, loss and uncertainty spanning over an eleven month period, I released my first book, Just Breathe. It was the book I never saw coming, but the one that God birthed in me during that eleven month battle.

This is why I write… that the wounded, weary, and worn will not feel alone.

Though darkness and uncertain times surround us, we are never alone.

Hope still abounds.
