30 Practices to Calm the Weary Heart
Life comes at us fast. Sometimes, all we need is a lifeline tossed our way, reminding us that we can make it to the other side. Breathe deep. Take it slow. Keep it steady.
Just Breathe is that lifeline, compiled of 30 bite-sized gentle practices paired with scripture and soothing illustrations, providing breathing space for your heart and mind when life feels chaotic.
This pocket-sized book draws upon the author's life experiences to provide the perfect companion for those facing uncertainty, transition, or loss.
This small-but-mighty, gentle-yet-powerful little book is like steady, healing pressure upon a bleeding heart. The kind that doesn’t hurt, rather, it presses deep into the hidden parts of us with such comforting care that we feel known, understood, and held.
I wish I had it when two of our girls were in a tragic accident 12 years ago. Even now, reading it takes me back to places that need further tending. A dear friend/preacher called my husband and me “warriors!” We were the “wounded warriors,” we wept. We couldn’t “fix” our girls or remove their pain, nor our own.
Since then, we have gone from wounded warriors, to the wounded healers (helping others), to now very weary warriors in need of our own deep healing once again. Chronic illnesses piled one on top of the other in my body, stealing so much. The grief of it all severely reduced my ability to read long text. Too many words get lost on an already overwhelmed heart.
